3 Reasons You Won't Read Anywhere Else
There are many articles about the good reasons to choose cloth diapers. You've read them: cloth diapers cost less and protect the planet for our kids. Then there are the reasons I was glad I chose cloth that I discovered only after my daughter was born.
Dads like 'em
We used disposable diapers on vacation - every diaper changed was accompanied by grumbling and colorful descriptions of their shortcomings compared to cloth. Baby got diaper rash after a few days, it was harder to clean up diapers full of poop…the list went on. My husband was one happy fella when we came home to a diaper stacker full of cloth diapers, and even volunteered to change a few extra!
The multitasking diaper
Now that my little girl is a potty-learning toddler, she spends many hours running around the house “nekkie” so she can sit on her potty quickly. Cloth diapers provide a soft cover on the high chair while she snacks in the buff and a little extra protection while she sits on the couch and colors. Not possible with crispy disposable diapers and training pants!
Many blessings
I have lost track of the number of times strangers have blessed our hearts while changing diapers in public restrooms. Since many people are willing to sacrifice anything for convenience these days, it makes people feel good to see a family making a commitment to their child's best interest, even if it means carting around a diaper bag full of dirty cloth diapers.
