Bummis Tote Bags - Store your soiled diapers securely!
Bummis tote bags, made from 100% water resistant nylon, are one of our first recommendations to new cloth diapering parents, beyond the actual cloth diaper stash. These tote bags make taking baby "out-and-about" in cloth diapers easier; they are conveniently-sized to fit within a variety of diaper pail sizes.
The Bummis tote bags close with a drawstring and toggle, so they are not suggested for wet diaper pails, and are not considered 100% waterproof.
Bummis Tote Bags - Our Personal System
We kept one small sized Bummis tote on hand in our diaper bag for diaper changes in public areas. An extra Bummis cloth diaper tote was always stored in the car for longer day trips. Finally, we kept two X-Large diaper totes at home; one in our diaper pail and the other "at the ready" to switch out when it was time to do laundry. We would pull the diaper tote out of the pail, replacing it with a fresh one. The drawstring and toggle made it easy to close up the soiled diapers in the water-resistant Bummis Tote, and transport it to our local laundromat or our laundry room.
As stated above, the Bummis X-Large tote fits conveniently with a Large 54 Quart Diaper Pail and will hold about 40 small to medium-sized cloth diapers. The Large Bummis tote fits a 13 gallon trash can.

Washing and caring for the Bummis tote bags is simple. Place them in a warm wash and either hang them to dry, or dry on air dry in your dryer. As you might expect, please do not use any fabric softeners, chlorine bleach or other whitening agents in the wash or your cloth diaper tote will lose its water resistance. |
