Chinese Prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wraps for a tight budget.
When making an economical choice, more than one mom has decided that Chinese prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wraps are the way to go.
When I had my first son almost four years ago, I thought the logical diapering choice was disposables. I had never met anyone who used cloth diapers. In fact, I was grateful for disposables, as they seemed so much more convenient than the cloth diapers my mom used on us.
When my second son came along a year ago. All of a sudden, I had two in diapers! It all but broke our budget and the pile of diaper trash I had to take out every night was appalling! So I started thinking about options. We had moved to a new place, and I now had a friend who used cloth diapers on her son. I talked to her about her experience, and was surprised to learn just how easy cloth diapering was! Over the next few weeks, I spent countless hours on the internet researching cloth diapers. I was overwhelmed by all the choices! I had never realized there are so many different kinds, materials, etc. I wish I had run into www.diaperpin.com a lot earlier than I did, it has lots of great reviews!
Since we were on a pretty tight student budget, I finally decided that Chinese prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wraps would be the way to go. I placed my order with Bryana, received the diapers a week later, and have been using the same premium chinese prefolds and size medium Bummis wraps for almost 8 months now. They have been holding up great!
When my son was still little, I just folded the prefolds into the diaper cover, put it on, and he was ready to go. Now that he is more mobile, I have found that pinning the diapers helps keep them in place better. At first I was hesitant to pin, but I got used to it quickly, and it has never been a problem.
I was also worried about the laundry aspect of using cloth diapers, but it has never been a problem. I just throw the cloth diapers in the wash a couple of times a week, and they come out nice and clean. Whenever I do feel like they need a "stain treatment", I just line dry them outside in the sun, and it bleaches those stains right out.
Overall, cloth diapering has been a great experience for us, and while we do use disposables occasionally, I am going to stick with cloth. I am actually looking forward to the day my husband is done with school, and I have a little more money available to invest in cute fitted diapers, pocket diapers and such!

Though Chinese Prefolds are a simple diaper that works beautifully, there are several other styles of cloth diapers that will save you time and money.
